During 2025-26, the MLIs that reported their data indicated offering non-loan life, health and non-life insurance, with credit-plus activities facilitating such services for 143.53 lakh clients. With regard to credit-linked insurance, almost all microfinance borrowers are covered under such insurance schemes. Additionally, significant numbers of clients are covered through non-loan term life insurance, non-loan health protection, and non-life protection.

These figures are based on reported data and may include overlapping beneficiaries. The actual figures may be higher if all credit-plus activities reported by the institutions are taken into account.
