Job Title: SRO Vertical Head & Compliance Officer
Location: New Delhi, Head Office.
About the Role: Sa-Dhan, the national association of community development finance institutions and a Self- Regulatory Organisation (SRO) recognised by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the last 11 years, is seeking applications from experienced and dynamic persons for the post of Associate Director to act as Vertical Head of the SRO vertical and Compliance Officer. The role will require close collaboration with leaders of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and their key functionaries, such as Compliance officers and other CXOs, to ensure regulatory compliance. Further, the officer will work in close association with the DOR and DOS of RBI, the regulator for MFIs, and keep them informed about the regulatory compliance of the member institutions. The officer is responsible for submission of SRO reports and other reports to RBI as mandated under SRO responsibilities.

SRO – Regulatory & Governance:
- Support the effective implementation and continuous strengthening of Sa-Dhan’s SRO mandate, processes and functions.
- The concerned person will be responsible for SRO-related communication with the RBI
- Coordinate with members and relevant stakeholders to facilitate compliance with applicable SRO standards, codes, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development, review and implementation of policies, standards, guidelines, operating procedures and governance frameworks.
- Monitor regulatory, policy and sectoral developments and assess their implications for Sa-Dhan and its members.
- Facilitate member engagement and consultations on regulatory matters, responsible business practices, customer protection and industry standards.
- Support SRO-related monitoring, reporting, grievance redressal and follow-up processes.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote responsible, transparent and sustainable practices across the sector.
- Prepare regulatory briefs, analysis, reports, presentations and recommendations for senior leadership and relevant governance bodies.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records relating to SRO activities, member engagement and regulatory matters.
- Support effective governance processes, including Board, committee and other institutional meetings and activities.
- Coordinate the preparation of agendas, briefing notes, presentations, minutes, action trackers and governance reports.
- Follow up on decisions and action points arising from Board and committee meetings and ensure timely closure.
- Support strengthening of governance systems, documentation, reporting and institutional processes.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure alignment between organisational priorities, governance decisions and operational execution.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness in governance- related work.
- Ensure an adequate and meticulous grievance redressal mechanism for MFI borrowers
- Monitor Customer Grievance Redressal Mechanism
- Keep the regulator informed of violations of the CGRM by member institutions
- Postgraduate degree in Management, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Persons with Chartered Accountancy, CFA, or Legal qualifications with adequate experience
- Additional qualifications or demonstrated expertise in regulatory affairs, governance, financial inclusion, fundraising/resource mobilisation or public policy will be an advantage.
- 10–15 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in financial inclusion, microfinance, banking, NBFCs, development finance, industry associations, regulatory bodies, consulting or the development sector.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Regulatory affairs, SROs, or compliance frameworks
- Experience of working with senior government officials, regulators, financial
institutions, development partners, donors and industry leaders will be strongly
preferred.
- Institutional governance and Board/committee processes
- Large-scale conferences, stakeholder events and institutional convenings
- Resource mobilisation and fundraising
- Strategic partnerships and donor engagement
- Financial inclusion, policy research or advocacy
- Stakeholder and institutional relationship management
- Candidates with demonstrated experience across multiple areas of the role will be preferred.

- Strong regulatory knowledge and analytical skills for policy notes and risk monitoring in microfinance operations and regulations.
- Strong Interpersonal skills.
- In-depth understanding of qualitative and quantitative research approaches.

Strong writing and speaking skills in English and Hindi. It will be preferable if the person understands other Indian languages.
Qualification: Post Graduate with data analytic skills. There can be relaxations for the qualification for suitable candidates.
