Sa-Dhan in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and
industry (FICCI) is organizing the National Microfinance Conference 2011. The theme
of this conference is "Re-engineering Microfinance: Need for New Products & Policies"
and it is scheduled to be held on the 15th and 16th of March 2011.

Keeping the accentuated situation that the Microfinance Sector today finds itself in, it is time for us to
re-design the future trajectory of Financial Inclusion in India. According to the Tendulkar Committee
findings, one third of India's population lives below the poverty line. The Financial Inclusion Agenda as
well as the Microfinance movement, according to many critics, needs re-thinking. Therefore, the reengineering
of the Microfinance movement is pertinent and imperative now as the movement has
already moved beyond the present set of debates.
The theme of this year's National Microfinance Conference is “Re-engineering Microfinance: Need
for New Products and Policies”. This Conference would provide a space for us to re-affirm
ourselves as a Collective, resolve the present glitches that the sector is facing and to re-create the
future. The Conference aims to provide a unique space for Microfinance Practitioners to have an
interface and dialogue.
